Transferring in an existing domain name

From Support - DLCC Web

Before visitors to your website will see the content you create in your DLCCWeb account, you will need to point your domain name from your existing website host to DLCCWeb. This record is stored with the company you or your staff used originally to purchase the name of your website. Some commonly used domain registrars include GoDaddy.com, Aplus.net and 1and1.com, but there are many others.

Once you've determined who your domain is registered through, you can complete the transfer process by switching your nameservers from whatever they currently are to:

  • ns1.alticon.net
  • ns2.alticon.net
  • ns3.alticon.net
  • ns4.alticon.net

If you are having trouble with this process you should contact the support department for the company responsible for your domain registration, or search their documentation. For example, the instructions for changing nameservers at GoDaddy can be found here.

Please note: The transfer process is not instantaneous, and any changes you make will take 4-48 hours to propagate across the Internet, and there may be a period of time where both your old website and your new website are accessible. However, this is both normal and temporary.

If you are encountering significant problems completing this process, please contact support@dlccweb.com and we can provide technical assistance in transferring your domain name.
